It goeswithout saying,I hope, thatSalvo is committed toobtaining international recognition of Scotland’s rights. Scotland has rights? Really? What a radical idea. But unlike rainbow unicorns, the rights of nations are well established fact.

Scotland’s rightsexistunder one of two possible sets of conditionsand onlyoneotherof thesetwo:

Asignatorynationtoany treaty has the right toexpect the terms and limits agreed.(This is a right of peoples and nations and not justofstates.)These terms and limitsmust not only exist buttheymustdefine the character of theagreement – in Scotland’s case, its position inthe United Kingdoms of Great Britain.Those terms and limits mean we have a right, here and now to the sovereignty of our people over their government and to the exclusive control of our Scottish territorial resources – including our energy.Otherwisethat statecalling…
